About Dr. Nicholas K. Roy
Dr. Nicholas Roy was born and raised in Lewiston, Maine. Growing up he enjoyed playing hockey, running and track and field. He attended UVM for his undergraduate studies. Upon completing his B.S. in Chemistry, he headed south to The University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, a top-rated dental school. The four years flew by and there was lots learned. During this time, he developed a passion for comprehensive care, which is a style of dental treatment that looks at the big picture of a person’s mouth and related systems, along with their overall systemic health. In order to help patients with such complex needs, he decided to enter an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) in Richmond, Virginia. This experience gave him the confidence and skills necessary to do implant dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation, sedation dentistry, and complex surgical treatment. Returning to his home state, he decided to help those in need by joining a public health facility. This gave him time to give back, while evaluating where he’d like to plant his roots. Dr. Roy has a passion for Continuing Education in Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Maine Dental Association (MDA), American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), Board Member and President Elect of the Maine Academy of General Dentistry (ME AGD), President of the New England Master Track Program (NEMTP), Past President and Vice President of the Greater Portland Dental Society (GPDS), member of the Greater Portland Dental Study Club (GPDSC), and recipient of the prestigious Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), which is obtained by less than 1% of general dentists in the U.S. He has lectured to his peers at local dental meetings and was featured in the leading dental podcast in the world, discussing his passion for dental adhesives and continuing education. Dr. Roy’s goal is to provide dental care in a comprehensive manner. This means he will focus on patients that have been away from the dental world for some time, and have a complex set of issues. He looks forward to continuing to be a big part of the community, mission trips to Honduras, and providing assistance to veterans of U.S Armed forces through the Smiles for Vets Program. Dr. Roy has a passion for golf, hockey, running, fishing, hiking, and playing guitar. He enjoys time with his wife Danielle and their children Beckett, Scout, and Nixon. Not too far away, are their two dogs, Neely and Rip.
Kayla Birde, DMD, is a general dentist excited to provide top-quality dental care to our Maine communities. Her educational journey started with an undergraduate degree from Lafayette College and a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers School of Graduate Studies. She then completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she developed a passion for comprehensive patient care.
Dr. Birde is committed to providing personalized care and exceptional dental services to patients of all ages. Dr. Birde combines clinical expertise with a gentle touch to ensure each patient receives the highest standard of care. From routine check-ups and cleanings to advanced restorative and cosmetic treatments, our practice offers comprehensive dental solutions to meet your unique needs.
During her free time, Dr. Birde enjoys traveling with her fiance Nick, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Birde is excited to explore more of the great state of Maine and have an impact on the community.
About Dr. Kayla Birde
About Dr. Sofia Reagan
Dr. Sofia Reagan grew up in Southern Maine and considers herself to be a lifelong learner. Dr. Reagan completed her undergraduate studies at Stonehill College and upon graduation, her professional career began as an educator in southern Maine. It was during her time in education that she gained exposure to the dental profession and recognized her deep interest, respect, and appreciation for those this field. She then enrolled at the University of New England College of Dental Medicine and while in school, Dr. Sofia developed a deep passion for cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, and endodontic therapy. Drawing from her years of teaching experience, Dr. Sofia utilizes her skills in communication and an enthusiasm for education to ensure that her patients and heard and understand all aspects of the treatment they are receiving. She is committed to providing excellent dental care while helping to foster an understanding of the oral health needs of her patients. Dr. Sofia is now also a faculty member at the University of New England, helping to teach the next wave of dental students.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Sofia enjoys spending time with her husband Zachary and their three children, Mia, Oliver, and Lois. In her free time, Dr. Sofia enjoys hiking, cooking, and traveling.
About Dr. Ryan Stalker
Dr. Ryan Stalker grew up in Sauquoit, a small town in Upstate New York. For his undergraduate studies, Dr. Stalker attended Utica College where he received a B.S. in Biology. For his doctoral degree, Dr. Stalker attended the University of New England College of Dental Medicine and ultimately received his degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). During his studies, Dr. Stalker completed multiple externships in rural Vermont, providing various treatments in the fields of endodontics, restorative dentistry, and oral surgery.
After dental school, Dr. Stalker continued his education and completed a General Dentistry Practice Residency at Faxton St. Luke’s Oral Health Center. Through this program, he enhanced his skillset in both hospital and clinical settings, improving his treatment planning skills and proficiency in all aspects of general and family dentistry. Dr. Stalker prides himself on making his patients feel welcomed and fostering a positive environment where their concerns are heard and understood.
Outside of work, Dr. Stalker enjoys running, golfing, fishing, spending time with his wife Emily, and exploring all that Maine has to offer. He is grateful to have the opportunity to provide care to everyone at Lakeview Family Dental and looks forward to seeing all of you.
